TNS integrates its businesses in Southeast Asia

With effect from January 2008, TNS integrates its businesses to maximize its management and expertise in some of the Southeast Asian countries.

Grant Bertoli will take responsibility for Thailand, Malaysia and the Philippines markets. Grant, formerly Managing Director of TNS in Singapore, is extremely well qualified to take up this role after successfully growing the Singapore office to leadership status and having strong knowledge and skills associated with TNS' Sectors and Areas of Expertise practices which will be integral to the growth of the ASEAN Markets.

"I am excited about the move to oversee three of the most dynamic markets in the ASEAN Region. They are all strong markets for TNS, and moving forward we expect to accelerate the growth from this region through some of our new solutions and offerings" said Grant.

Grant further commented, "Our clients are looking for us to have in-depth views on the local markets and equally so having access to the best in class solutions to address their marketing needs. The move towards a much more integrated regional strategy will allow us to better service and execute against these needs".

At the same time, TNS Hong Kong and TNS Singapore's businesses have been consolidated to expand the region's International Research Centre (IRC) capabilities. In addition to managing local business in each of these markets, the IRC brings to bear specialist capability in the design, management and delivery of multi-country, regional and global research programs.

Wade Garland, formerly Managing Director of TNS Hong Kong, will manage the combined entity. A marketing research professional with over 15 years of experience, Wade has held positions in Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong, amassing extensive experience in the conduct of international research across the region and beyond.

"Important markets in their own right, Hong Kong and Singapore are also key regional centres for many of our clients. It was the need for a specialist capability in the conduct of regional research programs, aligned with our clients' own structures, that drove the creation and rapid growth of our TNS IRC services in each of these markets", said Wade.

Wade went on to say: "The integration of these two offices is as such highly synergistic and we expect to see this translate into very tangible benefits for our clients. Greater scale and expanded capability throughout the research process - from the logistics of complex program management to the delivery of sector specific value added insight and consultancy - are just the start".
